Spicy Lemon Veal Chops

 

Ingredients

 
  • 4 veal T-bone steaks (or loin chops), 250 g (1/2 lb.) each

Marinade

 
  • 1 small onion coarsely chopped
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) fresh lemon juice
  • 160 ml (2/3 cup) canola oil
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) steak spices
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) green peppercorn
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) dried Espelette chili pepper (or 1/2 tsp. chili and 1/4 tsp. Cayenne pepper)

 

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix all marinade ingredients.
  2. Place veal chops in a shallow dish and pour marinade over chops.
  3. Cover and put in refrigerator, marinate between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the barbecue to medium-high heat.
  5. Remove chops from marinade and pat dry.
  6. Grill chops on barbecue about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 150°F (66°C).
  7. Serve with scalloped potatoes and fresh season vegetables.
